How our graduates reach an airline
We have a real airline pathway and we will not pretend it is a guarantee. This page sets out both — what genuinely exists, and where selection decides.
The Skyway Airlines pathway
Through a 2025 memorandum of understanding, Continental Aero supplies pilots to Skyway Airlines, and selected cadets are hired as first officers. This is real employment, not a brochure line.
The honest qualifications, which matter as much as the headline:
Why our recommendation means something
Because it is not based on a single test. The online aptitude assessment is only the beginning — through your training we track progress against the eight ICAO core competencies, lesson by lesson, in the aircraft. By the time we present you, your suitability has been demonstrated in the cockpit over months, not inferred from a screen.
That is also why the recommendation is genuine rather than automatic. We do not present candidates we would not fly with.
The instructor route — how most of our international graduates get there
This is the pathway few schools explain, and it is the one that works.
Graduates selected to instruct at Continental Aero gain legal employment standing in the Philippines, build hours quickly, and accumulate a complete and verifiable training record. From there they apply to airlines directly, with the flying time and the documentation that airlines actually ask for.
Many of our instructors have moved to airlines this way. Instructor positions are selective and awarded on evaluation — we do not promise anyone a position, a salary, or employment in advance of that.
Cadet or modular — does the route change the outcome?
The licences are identical under CAAP. What differs is the introduction, not the qualification.
| Cadet Pilot Program | Professional / Modular | |
|---|---|---|
| Licences | Identical CAAP licences | Identical CAAP licences |
| Pace | Integrated, cohort-based, roughly 18–24 months | Self-paced, licence by licence |
| Airline route | Formally presented into Skyway selection with full record | Applied for through standard airline channels |
| Admission | Rolling — a new intake opens every month | Start when your documents and medical are ready |
Many modular graduates fly for the same airlines as cadet graduates. If a cadet seat is not available, the modular route is not a lesser path — and modular students can apply for a cadet intake later.
Where our alumni fly
More than 1,100 alumni over forty years. They fly today for Philippine Airlines, Cebu Pacific, AirAsia Philippines, Korean Air, Emirates, FedEx, MAF and Air Niugini, among others.
Flying outside the Philippines
CAAP licences are issued to ICAO standards and recognised in all 193 ICAO member states. That gives you a recognised basis to convert to another regulator — FAA, EASA, CASA, DGCA, CAAK, JCAB and others.
Conversion is not automatic. Each authority sets its own examinations, flight tests, medicals and timelines, and only that authority can confirm them. Tell us which country you are aiming at and an advisor will explain the specific pathway rather than guess at it.
What we will and will not say
